The tiers

Three tiers, and your numbers on them.

Every threshold below is a default. Your HR admin sets them for the workforce you actually have.

Gold Above 7,000 Average daily steps. Default, adjustable.
Silver 5,000 to 7,000 Average daily steps. Default, adjustable.
Bronze Below 5,000 Average daily steps. Default, adjustable.

Three tiers is the whole ladder today. There is no platinum, no diamond, and tiers cannot be renamed. Thresholds are the part you configure.

The basis

An average is harder to game than a total.

The league reads a rolling average of daily steps and recalculates every day. The window is configurable, and 7 or 30 days are the usual choices.

A single heroic Saturday does not carry a month. Consistency does. A zero-step day costs more than a big day gains, because both move the same average. The same steps that feed a challenge feed the league. Nothing is logged twice.

Where those steps come from sits on activity tracking.

The difference

A leaderboard is an event. A league is a state.

They are not alternatives. Most programs run both, and the league is what holds the floor between campaigns.

Once leagues are live, the reporting is self-serve. Each employee row carries their average steps, current tier, and the share of days spent in each tier.

Employees find their tier in their profile, with week-by-week navigation back through their own history.

Mobile only. There is no employee league page on the web. No wearable needed. The phone pedometer is enough to be ranked. New joiners are unranked until there is enough step history to average.

Badges, not leagues. Badges are a separate recognition surface earned for milestones, and they sit alongside the league rather than inside it.
Before you plan around it

Leagues are not a switch in the dashboard.

Lite Mode Not included

Lite Mode is steps only. Leagues are a Full Mode capability and do not appear there at all.

Three things buyers ask in week one.

Where does 7,000 come from?

It is the shipped default for the gold threshold, and it is adjustable. Vantage Fit does not present it as a clinical target, and plenty of workforces are set higher or lower.

Can we add a fourth tier, or rename them?

Not today. There are three tiers, and what you configure is the thresholds between them and the length of the rolling window.

Does a bad month leave someone stuck in bronze?

No. The average is rolling and the tier is recalculated daily, so a better fortnight moves it. Nothing about the league is permanent.
