## 1. Research takeaways (product truth)

Researched `vantagefit-astro/content/en/help/`, `vc-os/vfit-os` (`specs/`, `specs/product/`, `product-marketing/`, `.claude/rules/`), and `vc-dashboard-design` (`vc-data.js`, `docs/modules/wellness.md`). What the product actually does for this program:

**The core mechanic the old page misses: wellbeing is a challenge system, not a content page.**
- A **Custom Challenge** is a multi-week, multi-activity builder with weekly themes and per-task points. The admin help doc lists **27 task types** (`help/admin/challenges/admin-what-tasks-can-i-include-in-a-custom-challenge.md`), including the exact ones a mental-health program needs:
  - **Meditation** (log minutes) and **Mindfulness** (breathing practice), explicitly positioned in docs for "mental-health initiatives, stress management," and "anxiety reduction."
  - **Mood Log** — daily 5-point scale with optional reason tags (Work, Family, Exercise…). Explicitly documented as **private to the employee: never shown to admins, managers, or leaderboards** (`help/employee/health-tracking/how-do-i-track-my-mood.md`).
  - **Sleep Tracker** (auto-sync from Apple Watch/Fitbit/Health Connect, or manual), **Yoga**, **Book Reading**, **Water Log**, **Meal Log**, **Content Reading / Bite-Size Content**, **Adherence (Custom Habit)**, **Custom Loggable Activity** (employer-branded, e.g. "Walking meetings").
- **Guided mindfulness library built in**: 30+ guided audio sessions, 7 categories (Top Picks, Yoga, White Noise, Self-Awareness incl. breathing exercises and affirmations, Meditation, Relaxation, Sleep), sessions 1–34 min, offline play with later sync (`specs/product/03-health-wellness/mindfulness.md`). Completed sessions log as activities and **count toward challenge tasks** — content and competition are wired together, which is the differentiator vs. point-solution meditation apps.
- **Fairness mechanic unique to this page**: on leaderboards, non-step tasks (mood, meditation, etc.) are **capped at 100%/day** (`help/employee/challenges/how-does-the-leaderboard-work.md`). Nobody can "win" a wellbeing challenge by grinding. Team scores are averages.
- **Targeting**: challenge audiences can filter by **HRA health risk code** — the help doc's own example is "target employees with high stress risk for a mindfulness challenge" (`help/admin/challenges/admin-how-do-i-set-target-audience.md`). Risk-code targeting returns a **count only**, no names. Targeted audiences have a **20-person minimum** for privacy (dashboard). Enrollment modes: **Enroll Immediately** or **Enroll When Active** (auto-adds mid-challenge joiners and new hires).
- **Privacy posture (verified claims only)**: leaderboard opt-out (hide from rankings, still participate and earn); aggregate-only admin analytics for HRA/lab data; mood never leaves the employee's phone; SOC 2 Type II compliant; HIPAA-guidelines alignment; four regional data-residency instances (US/EU/India/UAE). Mission doc states privacy outranks HR data hunger; the product calls itself "a habit product, not a clinical one."
- **Templates**: pre-built challenge templates include **"Mindful March"** (help docs), **"Stress-Free Month"** (OS specs), "4-Week Wellness Reset," "Mind & Body Balance" (dashboard data).
- **Run the whole calendar**: unlimited parallel challenges; one activity counts toward every matching challenge. Help docs recommend an always-on Streak plus short themed bursts — for this page: an always-on mindfulness habit plus monthly themed challenges (Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Stress Awareness in April).
- **Rewards & recognition**: per-task Vantage Points (admin-set values, local currency, gift-card catalogue), automatic badges (7 categories, 25+ levels), branded completion certificates auto-generated at challenge end after a 3-day sync buffer.
- **Comms**: automated challenge lifecycle emails (invite, reminder 24/72h, start, weekly summary, completion) plus push nudges from the dashboard (e.g. "nudge dormant members").
- **EAP boundary (approved language)**: the program "sits alongside (not instead of) any EAP." There is **no** in-app counseling/therapy; the Marketplace lists third-party EAP/counseling providers (external transactions). The current live page's "we link employees to professional counselors" claim is internally flagged as unverified — I did not repeat it.
- **Voice guardrails** (`messaging-audit/data/voice-and-tone-guide.md`): avoid "health monitoring," "behavior change," "digital therapeutics," diagnostic language. Copy below complies.

**Approved external stat**: WHO — 12 billion working days lost annually to depression and anxiety (approved in OS spec §7.3). Used once, attributed.

## 2. What the old marketing page under-sells

The live page (`content/en/pages/use-cases/mental-health-and-wellbeing-challenges.yaml`) is a feature brochure: mindfulness sessions, resources, "guidance & support" (an unverified counseling claim), mood tracking, one testimonial. It never explains:

1. **That mental health is a *challenge*** — mood check-ins, meditation minutes, sleep, yoga are assignable, point-bearing tasks inside a multi-week challenge with weekly themes, teams, and leaderboards. The entire 27-task Custom Challenge system is absent.
2. **The fairness design** — 100%/day caps on non-step tasks mean a wellbeing challenge can't be dominated by the fittest employees. This is the participation thesis applied to wellbeing.
3. **The privacy architecture** — mood data is private by product design (not just policy), leaderboards are opt-out-able, targeting is count-only with minimum cohort sizes, HR sees aggregates. For a *mental health* program this is the #1 buying objection, and the old page answers it with one vague FAQ line.
4. **Targeting by need** — HRA risk-code audience filters (reach high-stress groups without knowing who they are).
5. **The proof** — the old page cites only Brazosport in the hero and IBS as a testimonial. JF Petroleum (8,800+ mindfulness minutes, org mood "Awesome"), Wipro's "Inbox to Inner Peace" challenge, and IBS's 130 daily mood loggers are unused.

## 3. Structure rationale (IA)

The Steps page flow generalizes, but this page re-weights two things: **privacy moves up** (for steps it was a mid-page integrity section; for mental health it is the emotional core of the purchase), and the **formats explorer becomes a task explorer** (buyers of this page aren't choosing between Race and Streak; they're asking "what would employees actually *do*?").

| # | Section | Job |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hero — "Mental wellbeing your whole workforce can take part in." | Promise + product-real visual: employee phone (Mindful May challenge, private mood check-in) next to admin aggregate view. Proof chips from real case studies. |
| 2 | The familiar story — why programs stall | Recognition beat: EAP/webinar model is episodic and stigmatized; wellness apps get abandoned; HR can't show impact without crossing privacy lines. Earns the pitch. WHO stat lives here, attributed. |
| 3 | What a wellbeing challenge is made of | Task explorer: four groups (Mind / Move / Rest & fuel / Learn) listing real task types. Templates (Mindful March, Stress-Free Month), weekly themes, always-on + themed-burst cadence. |
| 4 | Guided sessions built in | The content differentiator: 30+ sessions, 7 categories, 1–34 min, offline, and session completions count as challenge tasks. Product-real session-list visual. |
| 5 | Personal stays personal | **The standout section.** Product-proof privacy: mood logs never visible to admins or leaderboards, leaderboard opt-out, aggregate-only reporting, count-only targeting with 20-person minimums, daily caps so no one "wins" at meditating, residency + compliance. Visual: private mood check-in vs. what HR actually sees. |
| 6 | For HR — launch in minutes, measure what matters | Templates, HRA risk-code targeting, auto-enrollment incl. new hires, local time zones, automated nudges, reports. Admin dashboard mock (aggregate only, marked illustrative). |
| 7 | Proof | Real, named, published outcomes only: Brazosport ISD, JF Petroleum, IBS Software, Wipro. This program has genuine proof, so the section earns its place. |
| 8 | FAQ (5 Qs) | Real rollout objections: mood privacy, wearable requirement, EAP relationship (boundary language), targeting, measurement. |
| 9 | Closer | Demo CTA with 4 callouts. |

Deliberately omitted: a "data integrity/anti-fraud" section (steps-specific objection; daily caps are folded into §5), a separate security band (folded into §5 to keep the page lean per boss feedback), and any "counselor/helpline" feature block (unverified claim).

## 4. Full copy deck

### Meta

- **Description:** Run workplace mental health and wellbeing challenges employees actually join. Guided mindfulness, private mood check-ins, sleep and yoga tasks, and aggregate-only reporting for HR.

### S1 — Hero
- Eyebrow: `Solutions · Mental health & wellbeing`

- CTAs: **Book a demo** / **See pricing**
- Hero notes: `No wearable required` · `Mood data stays private` · `Live in days, not months`
- Visual: admin dash mock "Mindful May · Custom challenge" (Enrolled 1,180 · Active 74% · Avg mindful min 9.4 — illustrative) + task progress rows; employee phone with challenge card, mood check-in marked "Private to you."

### S2 — The familiar story
- Eyebrow: `The familiar story` · H2: **Most mental health programs are easy to launch and hard to use.**
- Lead: Depression and anxiety cost 12 billion working days a year (WHO). The response is usually a webinar series and an EAP phone number, and the same outcome: low use, no habits, nothing to report.
- Pain cards (3):
  1. **Support arrives once a year.** An awareness-month webinar and a helpline poster reach the same small group, then go quiet for eleven months.
  2. **Apps get downloaded, then dropped.** A meditation app with no social pull or reward behind it loses most people in the first week.
  3. **Impact stays unprovable.** HR can't report on mental health without touching personal data, so programs get funded on faith and cut on doubt.
- Pivot: These are design problems, not motivation problems. A wellbeing challenge fixes the mechanics: daily guided practice, friendly team momentum, real rewards, and reporting that never exposes a single person.

### S3 — What a wellbeing challenge is made of
- Eyebrow: `One challenge, every dimension of wellbeing` · H2: **Build your program from 27 real activities.**
- Lead: A Custom Challenge runs weekly themes with any mix of tasks. Start from a template like Mindful March or Stress-Free Month, or build your own.
- Group cards (4), one-line each:
  - **Mind** — Meditation minutes, mindfulness and breathing practice, and a daily mood check-in that stays private to the employee.
  - **Move** — Yoga, steps, active minutes, and strength, for people who process stress physically.
  - **Rest & fuel** — Sleep tracking, water intake, and meal logging, because recovery is half of wellbeing.
  - **Learn** — Short articles, videos, and bite-size lessons on stress, sleep, and work-life balance that count as tasks.
- Cadence strip: weekly themes and per-task points · run an always-on habit challenge with short themed bursts in parallel · one activity counts toward every challenge it matches.

### S4 — Guided sessions built in
- Eyebrow: `More than tracking` · H2: **A guided session library employees actually open.**
- Lead: Over 30 guided audio sessions across meditation, sleep, relaxation, breathing, and yoga, from one-minute resets to 30-minute deep rests. They play offline, and every completed session counts toward the challenge.
- Visual: phone session list (Body scan 12 min · Focus breath 5 min · Deep sleep 20 min · Yoga Nidra 25 min) with "Session complete · +20 pts" state.

### S5 — Personal stays personal
- Eyebrow: `Privacy by design` · H2: **Personal stays personal. Participation stays visible.**
- Lead: A mental health program only works if people trust it. That trust is built into the product, not bolted on with a policy page.
- Checklist (6): mood check-ins are private to the employee, never on leaderboards or admin screens · employees can opt out of rankings and still participate and earn · HR reporting is aggregate-only · targeting by health risk shows counts, never names, with minimum group sizes · daily caps on non-step tasks mean no one can win at meditating · SOC 2 Type II compliant, HIPAA-aligned practices, and regional data residency in the US, EU, India, and UAE.
- Visual: left — employee mood check-in card with lock ("Visible only to you"); right — "What HR sees" card (aggregate participation and mindful-minutes bars only).

### S6 — For HR
- Eyebrow: `For HR & program managers` · H2: **Launch in minutes. Measure what matters.**
- Checks (4): templates with themes, tasks, and scoring pre-set · target by department, location, or health risk code and auto-enroll everyone, including new hires · one challenge runs across every time zone, with automated invites, reminders, and weekly summaries · reports on participation, completion, and department trends, with aggregate wellbeing patterns over time.
- Visual: admin dashboard mock (illustrative) — participation trend, department bars, next action "Nudge 96 inactive members."

### S7 — Proof
- Eyebrow: `Results` · H2: **Wellbeing programs with receipts.**
- Stat cards (all from published case studies):
  - **86%** — Brazosport ISD (Texas school district): participation in a two-week Fit Wars challenge with mindfulness sessions; the district's average mood score reached 4 out of 5.
  - **8,800+** — JF Petroleum (energy services): mindfulness minutes logged in a 52-week program; the organization-wide mood reading hit "Awesome," the highest category.
  - **130** — IBS Software (technology): employees logging their mood daily in a 28-day challenge, with 88% overall engagement.
  - **1,279** — Wipro (global technology): mindfulness minutes in the two-week "Inbox to Inner Peace" challenge, alongside 163 yoga sessions.

### S8 — FAQ
1. **Who can see an employee's mood check-ins?** Only the employee. Mood entries never appear on leaderboards, in admin dashboards, or in reports. HR sees participation counts and aggregate trends, nothing personal.
2. **Do employees need a wearable or a meditation app subscription?** No. Meditation and mindfulness sessions play inside Vantage Fit, sleep syncs from phones and common wearables, and everything else is a quick manual log. A phone is enough.
3. **Does this replace our EAP?** No. Vantage Fit builds daily wellbeing habits and sits alongside your EAP, not instead of it. The in-app Marketplace can point employees to your existing counseling and assistance providers.
4. **Can we focus the program on teams that need it most?** Yes. Target by department, location, age group, or health risk code, for example higher-stress groups. Risk-based targeting returns a count, never a list of names, and targeted groups require a minimum of 20 people.
5. **What can we report to leadership?** Participation and completion by challenge and department, task-level engagement such as mindful minutes and sessions completed, and aggregate wellbeing trends over time. All exports are aggregate and audit-logged.

### S9 — Closer
- Eyebrow: `A calmer rollout` · H2: **See the wellbeing challenge your workforce would actually join.**
- Lead: In one demo, we configure a sample Mindful Month for your organization and walk through the employee experience, the privacy model, and the reporting behind it.
- CTAs: **Book a demo** / **See pricing**
- Callouts: `Template walkthrough` · `Privacy and security review` · `Admin reporting` · `Launch plan in days`

All dashboard/phone numbers in the mock (1,180 enrolled, 74%, 9.4 min, etc.) are labeled **illustrative**. Case-study figures are the only real numbers on the page.

## 6. Assumptions and research gaps

**Assumptions**
- The "Mindful May" name in mocks is illustrative; real templates include Mindful March and Stress-Free Month (cited in §3 copy, which names only real templates).
- Footer/trust claims limited to SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA-aligned, and regional residency. The live site also claims ISO 27001/27701 and GDPR, but the internal audit flags those as unverified in the approved knowledge base; per the Steps guardrails I kept GDPR out of body copy and left certification detail to the security review CTA.
- Case-study reuse (Brazosport etc.) assumes standard approval already granted for the consolidated Steps page applies here.

**Gaps (do not sell past these)**
- No in-app counseling, therapy, or helpline feature; EAP exists only as third-party Marketplace listings. The live page's "link employees to professional counselors" claim is internally flagged unverified and was not repeated.
- No admin mood analytics doc exists. Case studies report org-level mood aggregates (Brazosport, JF Petroleum), but the mechanic isn't documented; the page only claims aggregate trends, and mock UI shows participation/mindful-minutes aggregates, not mood dashboards.
- No stress score, no gratitude journal, no PHQ-9/GAD-7, no mental-health questions in the HRA (physical/lifestyle only). "Journaling" is a loggable activity but disabled by default for most companies, so it was excluded from copy.
- Dashboard prototype lacks a time-zone field; time-zone claims rest on help docs (`admin-can-i-run-challenges-across-time-zones.md`), which are treated as product truth.
- The composite "Wellness Score" was retired from the dashboard (2026-08-04) while OS specs still describe it. The page avoids marketing any single wellbeing score and speaks of "aggregate wellbeing trends" instead.
