Choose your format

One product. Four ways to run a step challenge.

Pick the structure that matches your goal — a short race, a daily habit streak, a visual journey, or a virtual distance event.

Format

Race

Best for quick energy

Pure step competition. Employees climb a live leaderboard by total steps — no daily target to configure.

  • 1–2 week sprints work best
  • Admin confirms top 3 after a 3-day sync buffer
  • Ideal between larger programs
Format

Streak

Best for habit building

Set a daily step target. Rank people by days completed (total steps break ties). Optional team competition.

  • 2–4 week duration sweet spot
  • Many teams start near 8,000 steps/day
  • Consistency over one big burst
Format

Journey

Best for multi-week immersion

Steps move employees along a visual map. Unlock milestones and points as they advance the route.

  • Templates: 7 Wonders, Europe, Everest
  • Strong for 4–8 week programs
  • Individual or team progression
Format

E-Marathon

Best for virtual events

Convert steps to distance on the leaderboard. Default 1,000 steps = 1 km — feels like a marathon without GPS routes.

  • Display km or miles
  • Great for wellness weeks & global days
  • Simple setup, tangible progress

Built for participation

Lower the barrier. Raise the join rate.

Step challenges only work when people actually take part after launch day. Vantage Fit removes the usual excuses.

01

Phone-first tracking

Steps sync from the phone sensors employees already carry (Apple Health / Google Fit). Wearables are optional for extra accuracy — not a prerequisite to join.

02

Live leaderboards

Standings stay visible so progress feels social. Mid-challenge nudges keep competition alive without HR running a spreadsheet.

03

Teams when you want them

Optional team modes (e.g. Streak and Journey) average individual scores so departments compete together — peer accountability for people who won’t go solo.

04

Rewards that cash out

Attach Vantage Points to progress and milestones. Employees redeem gift cards from a catalogue — with local-currency display for multi-country teams.

05

Inclusive rollout

Start with audience filters (site, department, country) for a pilot, then open company-wide. Run parallel challenges without colliding leaderboards.

06

Global by default

One challenge can span time zones. Start, daily reset, and end localize to each employee’s midnight — fair windows for New York and Singapore alike.

For HR & program managers

Launch in the dashboard. Measure what matters.

Self-serve challenge creation — not a six-month implementation project.

  1. 1
    Create

Choose Race, Streak, Journey, or E-Marathon. Set name, dates, image, and privacy.

  2. 2
    Target

All employees or filter by department, country, city, and more — pilot one site before going global.

  3. 3
    Incentivize

Attach point values and optional certificates so effort is recognized beyond a podium photo.

  4. 4
    Run

Invite participants, send mid-challenge notifications, and watch leaderboards as the challenge unfolds.

  5. 5
    Close fairly & report

Use the 3-day end buffer on race-style finishes for late syncs. Export leaderboards, enrollment status, and reward transactions.

What leadership can see: enrollment health (active / inactive / dormant), challenge standings, points activity, and redemptions — population-level program health, not private clinical surveillance.

Questions HR asks first

Straight answers before the demo.

Do employees need a Fitbit or smartwatch?
No. Phones track steps via Apple Health or Google Fit. Wearables like Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, and Samsung Watch are optional for accuracy and extra metrics — not required to participate.
Can remote and multi-office teams join the same challenge?
Yes. Challenges are fully virtual. For global teams, start times, daily resets, and end times localize to each employee’s midnight so no region is short-changed by HQ time zones.
How do you keep rankings fair when devices sync late?
Race-style challenges include a 3-day buffer after the end date before admins confirm winners. That window lets late wearable and phone syncs settle so the final leaderboard is accurate.
Can we run more than one challenge at a time?
Yes. There is no platform limit on parallel challenges. Each challenge keeps its own leaderboard, points, and completion criteria — for example an always-on Streak plus a quarterly Race.
What can HR report to leadership?
Enrollment and activity status (active, inactive, dormant), per-challenge leaderboards, points transactions, and redemptions — filterable and exportable as CSV from the admin dashboard.
How do rewards work?
Admins set point values on challenge tasks. Employees earn Vantage Points in their wallet and redeem gift cards from a catalogue. Multi-country teams can see local-currency display of the same underlying reward value.
